Hyperion Mark IV Universal Zoom 8-24mm Eyepiece with 1¼" and 2" Sleeve
Usually, zoom optics are not considered to be of good quality. This "prejudice" is not unjustified for many eyepieces. Most zoom eyepieces are designed to be as inexpensive as possible and are therefore optically calculated for a low magnification, and then the magnification is increased by shifting the individual lens groups - naturally the image quality suffers.

The reason for the success of our Hyperion Zoom eyepiece is that it is designed the other way around. The optical polish and the quality of all lens groups in the eyepiece are optimized and calculated for the highest magnification level. There the eyepiece also shows its largest inherent field of view, because if you "zoom in" on an object, then naturally the field of view should also become larger in order to remain clear.

Worldwide, the Hyperion zoom eyepiece is popular with nature observers, birdwatchers and astronomers alike. It is also the only zoom eyepiece consistently designed and optimized for binocular observation.

Both 1¼" and 2" filters can be adapted (but not simultaneously) to the Hyperion Universal Zoom Mark IV

What's new on the "Universal Zoom Mark IV" model?
Even best sellers can be improved: Our popular Hyperion zoom eyepiece is now available in its fourth generation and has become even more versatile. At 290 grams, the eyepiece has been made 80 grams lighter than its predecessor to offer the lightest possible weight on the binocular. Also very important for use on the binocular are the optimized outer diameter of 55mm (3mm slimmer than Mark III) as well as the removable eyecup and the smoother clickstop detent at 8/12/16/20 and 24mm. This is the only way to instantly zoom to the correct magnification for both eyes on the binocular. The zoom mechanism and cam tracks have been redesigned to remain smooth even in the coldest conditions, and the homofocality of the different focal lengths has been improved even more than with all previous models.

Most importantly, however, important millimeters have also been gained in the back focus. Not least the owners of spotting scopes will profit from this. For telescopes and spotting scopes, two adapters (spotting scope adapter ring "A" and telescope adapter ring "B") are included to ideally adapt the contact surface or insertion depth of the eyepiece in each case (for more information, see the section "Connections on the telescope side").

The Mark IV is delivered with 1¼" as well as 2" sleeves, both sleeves have their own dust cap. The outer surface of the receptacles are turned without wide grooves to prevent the eyepiece from tilting. Instead, our safety kerfs ensure that the eyepiece does not slip out of a loose clamping. Also new is the signal yellow belt pouch, which can also be attached to many tripod legs.

The Mark IV Hyperion Zoom eyepiece can still be combined with the 2.25x Barlow lens #2956180 and then additionally covers the focal length range from 3.6 to 10.7 mm. The Hyperion Zoom Mark IV is available individually (#2454826) or as a set with the 2.25x Barlow Lens
