S-Series
The roof prism and porro prism binoculars in the S series have an objective lens diameter greater than 40 mm. Equipped with the same high-quality coatings as the A series, impeccable image quality is guaranteed. Characteristic of this series is the high light intensity due to the large objective lens diameter.
Multiple coatings on all lenses
Optimum light transmission is one of the most important aspects of the visual quality of binoculars. This is also the focus of the new technologies for the current PENTAX Sport Optics series. The "Full-Multi-Coating" of all lenses is the new standard coating. It improves light transmission and contrast while minimizing reflections and providing excellent colour fidelity.
Enhanced Light Transmission coating
The new "Enhanced Light Transmission Coating" raises the optical level of the new PENTAX binoculars to a significantly higher level. This optimized light transmission coating increases light transmission and guarantees exceptionally bright images with precise colour reproduction.
Lens protection coating
The lenses in the S series are specially coated with the "Protective Lens Coating". Based on nanotechnology, this water, oil, dust and dirt-repellent hydrophobic protective coating on the outer optical elements prolongs visual comfort in the long term. The corresponding PENTAX binoculars therefore impress even under the toughest viewing conditions.
BaK4 glass prisms
As the light rays are deflected several times at different angles in a prism, the quality of the optical glass is of crucial importance. For this reason, PENTAX binoculars only use prisms made of high-purity BaK4 glass with a high refractive index.
Phase correction
The design of roof prisms poses a particular challenge. Here, the light rays are reflected several times, resulting in a shift of the light waves. An additional phase correction coating on all PENTAX roof prisms corrects the frequency of the light rays back to the natural value.
Waterproofness
In keeping with the motto "Always with you.", PENTAX Sport Optics binoculars are also subject to special requirements. All binoculars with the additional designation "WP" are waterproof in accordance with JIS class 6 and can therefore withstand accidental immersion in water up to 1 m deep.
Nitrogen filling
All binoculars in the S series are filled with nitrogen, which not only prevents condensation in the binoculars but also prevents the ingress of dust and tiny airborne particles.
Internal focusing
Internal focusing protects the binoculars from the ingress of dust, foreign bodies and moisture. This ensures functionality over a long period of use.
Long eye point
The long eye point of PENTAX binoculars makes them very comfortable to use. Spectacle wearers in particular will appreciate being able to see the full field of view.
  • Water-repellent coating on the outer lenses
  • Waterproof (JIS 6 classification)
  • Nitrogen filling
  • Continuous rubber armoring for protection and a secure grip
