Ultra-compact directional condenser microphone for iPhone®, iPad® and smartphones: Rode VideoMic Me

At just 8 cm long and 34 g in weight, the RØDE VideoMic Me is the absolute favorite of iPhone® reporters of all kinds! Always broadcast-ready and high quality original sound recordings, from the front or in selfie mode - depending on the direction of attachment. The VideoMic Me is a professional condenser microphone that is relatively insensitive to sound waves from behind, left and right thanks to its cardioid characteristic - and therefore concentrates acoustically on what is happening in front of the lens. The built-in headphone socket at the back is extremely practical. If the app allows it, you can control the sound recording directly during the video shoot and save yourself the hassle of reconnecting the microphone and headphones when playing back a clip.

The VideoMic Me has an aluminum housing with a scratch-resistant ceramic coating, which makes it relatively insensitive to interference and ensures that it still looks good even after years of use. If the recordings take place outside, you should definitely attach the deluxe fur windscreen supplied. The windscreen is very stable due to the internal and precisely fitting plastic mesh and effectively filters out the otherwise unavoidable and disturbing air noise up to approx. wind force 4-5.

The RØDE VideoMic Me works just as well with an iPad® and many Android smartphones with a TRRS headset socket, as long as this is not in the immediate vicinity of the lens.
