SIGMA 35 mm F1.4 DG HSM A
Many ambitious photographers will certainly prefer this 35 mm Lens to the more conventional 50 mm version. Through groundbreaking design and state-of-the-art production technology, we have improved the performance of the lens to a point where this lens matches the expressive power of the most advanced digital cameras. This fast wide-angle Lens gives a beautiful bokeh effect to the
background due to its large F1.4 aperture. The F1.4 aperture makes it possible to create unique images in different situations, such as dusk shots or indoor handheld portraits.

1.Our Art product line delivers high artistic quality
Sigma groups all its interchangeable lenses into three product lines; Contemporary, Art and Sports. Our Art product line is designed for sophisticated optical performance and high expressiveness and is suitable for special artistic expression. Designed with the artistic touch in mind, the Lens in our Art line has been developed specifically for users who value a creative, dramatic result more than compactness and versatility. In addition to landscapes, portraits, still life, close-ups and snapshots, these Lens are ideal for the kind of photography that awakens the artist in a photographer. Not only are the Lens ideal for studio photography, but they also offer plenty of expressive power for architectural shots, starry skies, underwater shots and other scenes. The SIGMA 35mm F1.4 DG HSM is the first Lens in the Art product line.
2.Corrects color aberrations to ensure unsurpassed expressive performance

Imaging errors are a decisive factor in the performance characteristics of a lens. In the realization of a high-performance Lens, aberration correction is one of the most important tasks. In the case of chromatic aberration, a distinction is made between lateral chromatic aberration and longitudinal chromatic aberration. The lateral chromatic aberration can be corrected later in image processing software, whereas the longitudinal chromatic aberration cannot be corrected retrospectively. This Lens contains FLD glass elements ("F" low dispersion), which have the same performance as fluoride glass, and SLD (special low dispersion) glass elements. Both types of aberration have been corrected by optimizing the power alignment of the Lens. As a result, the Lens achieves an enormously high imaging performance over the entire distance range. Astigmatism and image field curvature have also been corrected by the appropriate alignment of aspherical lenses. This results in an extremely high resolution even in the peripheral areas.

3.High light intensity thanks to the largest possible aperture of F1.4
In 2005, SIGMA introduced a lens with a light intensity of F1.4 specially developed for digital cameras: the SIGMA 30 mm F1.4 EX DC HSM. Since then, we have produced many high-performance lenses by utilizing the latest lens technologies, including the standard SIGMA 50 mm F1.4 EX DG HSM lens designed specifically for full-frame sensors and the fast medium telephoto SIGMA 85 mm F1.4 EX DG HSM lens. This lens, the SIGMA 35 mm F1.4 DG HSM is our fourth lens to achieve the extraordinarily expressive performance of F1.4 aperture. In wide-angle photography, this large aperture delivers excellent image brightness and wonderful bokeh.

4.Pleasant bokeh effect
The correction of the coma (asymmetry error) ensures less blurring of point light sources in the peripheral area, making the Lens ideal for astrophotography and illuminations. The almost circular aperture ensures a very pleasant bokeh outside the focal plane of the image. The aspherical lens element, which is used as the first lens element, ensures optimum edge illumination and simultaneously eliminates distortion.

5.Floating internal focusing system
This system enables the correction of both astigmatism and spherical aberration and delivers extremely high optical performance for close-ups. 6. Reflection and Ghosting Considering Design The high image quality of this flagship Lens was achieved by thoroughly evaluating reflections and ghosting at an early stage of design to create an optical design that is resistant to unfavorable incident light. The Sigma Super Multi Layer coating reduces flare and ghosting and delivers sharp, high-contrast images even in backlit conditions.

7.Hyper Sonic Motor
The HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) drive ensures fast and silent autofocus, which can be intervened in manually at any time. The improved AF algorithm achieves smoother AF.

8.Brass bayonet
The Lens is equipped with a solid and precise brass bayonet. The special treatment of the surface to reinforce the strength enables long-lasting use.

9.Ease of use
The new product lines include a rubber coating at the base of the lens hood supplied. The design of the lens cap and the AF/MF switch has been improved for better operation. To ensure high precision, metallic parts and the new composite material TSC (Thermally Stable Composite), which has a high metal affinity, are used.

10.Newly developed "USB DOCK" especially for the new product lines
Based on these new lines, we have developed a special software (SIGMA Optimization Pro) with which, for example, the Lens firmware can be updated and focus parameters adjusted.

11.Evaluation with Sigma "s own MTF measurement system "A1"
We used to measure the performance of our lenses with MTF measurement systems that used conventional sensors. However, we have now developed our own MTF (Modulation Transfer Function) measurement system "A1", which uses the 46-megapixel Foveon direct image sensor. Even previously unrecognizable high-frequency details have now become testable as part of our quality control. All Lens of our new product lines are tested by this "A1" before
shipment.

12."Made in Japan"
All manufacturing at Sigma - down to the parts and molds - is done entirely in Japan based on an integrated production system. Today, we are one of the few manufacturers whose products are made exclusively in Japan. We like to think that our products carry the essence of our homeland, blessed with clear air and clean water and determined, hard-working people. We pride ourselves on the authentic quality of Sigma products as a result of a combination of highly specialized expertise and intelligent modern technology. Our sophisticated products have always met the demands of amateur and professional photographers worldwide, as our manufacturing is based on true craftsmanship and the passion and pride of our experts.
