The reduced design and the very quiet output also provide the professional photographer with the possibility of shooting unobtrusively and discreetly in the middle of action. Leica full-frame cameras also offer discerning amateur photographers a range of options for pursuing special preferences, such as pure black-and-white photography at a high level of quality.
The heart of the Leica full-frame camera is the full-frame sensor. It makes the difference in quality to APS-C sensors purely because of its much larger surface area. On a larger image sensor, the individual pixels have more space. Since they are not so close to each other, they can capture more light and thus, on the one hand, take brilliant photos without image noise even under difficult lighting conditions. On the other hand, with a large image sensor, the so-called crop factor, i.e. the focal length reduction, does not come into play and the image section does not become smaller when zooming. Creative amateur photographers can therefore photograph backgrounds with a shallow depth of field.
Excellent image quality paired with compact lightweight cameras that impress with robust housings and specially hardened glass, a user-friendly menu and video function in 1080p full HD or 4K video with the latest technology. Connectivity is ensured thanks to integrated Wi-Fi and recordings can be quickly sent to the editorial office or to social networks. Of course, the Leica cameras have HDMI and USB interfaces. Since recently, the M system has also integrated GPS technology. This makes it possible to store the location directly in the Exif image data.
